Agreement to these terms

HumanVerified is operated by USBN Ventures LLC. By accessing or using HumanVerified (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to both you and the organization.

What HumanVerified is

HumanVerified is an independent communication-authorization platform. It lets an individual attach a verifiable Human ID or one-time verification code to a communication they personally reviewed and authorized, and lets any recipient independently check that record. HumanVerified is not a government identity verification service, does not establish legal identity, and is not an AI-detection service.

Beta status

HumanVerified is currently offered free of charge during a beta period. Features, pricing, and availability may change, and the Service may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time. We’ll make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes in advance where practical.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an administrator account. Organization administrators are responsible for the accuracy of information they submit and for the conduct of team members they add. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

Human IDs and verification codes

Human IDs and verification codes are issued at the sole discretion of organization and platform administrators. They may be suspended or revoked at any time, with or without cause. A Human ID or verification code does not create a property right, and its issuance does not guarantee it will remain active for any period of time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use a Human ID or verification code you were not issued;
• misrepresent, forge, or tamper with a verification record;
• present a suspended or revoked ID or code as active;
• use the Service to impersonate another person or organization;
• attempt to circumvent suspension or revocation;
• scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the Service; or
• use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

User responsibility

Recipients remain solely responsible for their own decisions. A verification record confirms personal review and authorization only — it does not validate the truthfulness, accuracy, or legality of a message’s content, and it is not a substitute for independently confirming sensitive matters such as payments, wire instructions, contracts, or legal or financial claims.

Not a background check or credit report

HumanVerified is not a consumer reporting agency and is not intended to be used, and must not be used, as a factor in determining eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, or tenant screening. A Human ID or verification record confirms personal review and authorization only — it is not a background check, credit report, or character reference.

Reports and enforcement

Anyone may report suspected misuse of a Human ID or verification record. We may investigate reports and suspend or revoke IDs, codes, or accounts at our discretion, including without prior notice, if we believe these Terms have been violated.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HumanVerified and its administrators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service or any communication bearing a verification record — whether or not that record is valid, suspended, or revoked.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold HumanVerified harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit.

Intellectual property

The HumanVerified name, logo, and platform content may not be reproduced, copied, or used without prior written permission, except as necessary to display a verification record you were legitimately issued.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time; certain records (see Privacy Policy) are retained after account closure for audit integrity.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
